What’s Christmas without our most fave Yuletide dish, the Ham.It comes in different shapes and sizes. But this doesn’t have to be expensive. You can enjoy easy to prepare home-made hams, the economical and traditional way. Here’s how:

Pear-Shaped Ham with Fruit Sauce

1 pc Pear-Shaped Ham

1½ c fruit cocktail syrup

½ c brown sugar

¼ tsp ground cloves

½ c water

2 tbsp cornstarch

2 c drained canned fruit cocktail

Peel off wrappings of Pear-Shaped Ham, slice into ¼-inch thickness. Arrange on a shallow baking pan; bake in a preheated oven at 325ºF for 20 minutes.

Arrange ham slices on serving platter.

Meanwhile, in a saucepan, boil together fruit cocktail syrup, sugar and cloves.

Blend in water with 2 tbsp cornstarch.

Simmer till sauce thickens slightly. Add drained fruits. Simmer for one minute.

Pour fruit sauce on arranged ham slices. Serve remaining sauce in a bowl.

Enough of pear-shaped hams, let’s talk about another December treat and thrill in my country,David Beckham (oh what a beefcake!) 🙂 Just like the pear-shaped ham, this guy comes as a total package. A father,a husband,a celebrity endorser and a great athlete, not to mention a very goodlooking one at that.Coming off a successful US stint (his football team,LA Galaxy brought home the bacon in the recently concluded MLS (Major League Soccer)Tournament.(Bacon..beefcake..ham.. oh I’m a real carnivore!) 😀 Beckham and company is in Manila for an exhibition match against our national team, the Philippine Azkals, and also to conduct a football clinic for young kids which will be held today at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium. And the friendly match (with not-so friendly ticket prices, ranging from two to fifteen thousand pesos.whoa!) 😀 is set for tomorrow,Saturday,at 7pm,same venue. So to all Beckhamaniacs out there, this is your rare chance to see Victoria Spice’s flaming hot hubby. 🙂
