The True Story of Halloween

In Uncategorized on October 23, 2011 at 1:00 pm

The Celts, who once lived in Ireland, celebrated the arrival of winter with a holiday called All Hallows Eve.They lit fires and danced around them. They wore frightening masks to scare away ghosts. They carved pumpkins and placed candles inside of them. According to legend, the candlelight was thought to keep away spirits of the night. Today we call this holiday Halloween. It is celebrated on October 31. Kids and kids at heart dress up in costumes and go from house to house blurting out, “Trick or treat!”
They are then rewarded with all kinds of candy treats. Yum!
